Genetic load in an invasive guppy population

We are delighted to share our new study on the evolutionary forces shaping genetic load in guppies (Poecilia reticulata)!

In the paper, “Interplay between purging and admixture shapes genetic load in an invasive guppy population”, Katarzyna Burda et al. report evidence of purging in the translocated population, along with shifts in the relative burden of deleterious mutations following recent admixture.

It has been a fantastic journey—from field sampling through data analysis to publication. We hope readers enjoy the story as much as we enjoyed working on it.
